Hello friends!
During the beginning of COVID-19 we proactively moved out of our office space and into a storage unit in preparation for the financial hit that many have faced during these tumultuous times. Now that the vaccine seems to be in sight and COVID precautions have been more broadly studied and worked through, we are in search of a NEW SAGA SPACE!
Even before COVID, we were keeping an eye out for a perfect space that would meet all our needs, so we could best carry out our mission. Previously, our office and support groups spaces were split up into two buildings. We would like a larger space to accommodate both, so we may foster a stable support and community network past our weekly support groups. Therefore, we have landed on the idea of renting a house.
It is important to us that the folx that we work with feel safe and at home, as both are things that TGNC folx struggle with being ostracized from other community spaces, their family, public services, etc. We want to create a space of refuge and relief. Furthermore, we think it is vital that a space like this exists in Tucson.
Ideally, we are looking for the following:
- 1 room for office for 2 employees
- 1 room for a 'Trans Closet'
- 1 large living room that fits about 20 people for support groups
- A sizable backyard for events
- Shower
- Kitchen
- AC (no swamp)
- Near public transit
- Wheelchair accessible
- Lots of parking available
- Budget: $1,000 including utilities
So if you have any leads or suggestions, we'd love to hear from you. Thank you!
