Transgender Day of Remembrance is a ceremony conducted across the country in recognition and solidarity. The event is an annual living Memorial to the lives of many fellow transgender folks, people like all of us. These people helped blaze the way to greater social acceptance that we all strive for. Their sacrifice is remembered and honored by our appreciation and respect. Their lives were lived and ended in the beautiful spirit and right of freedom of expression. We will honor them by name, with candles, and a procession after the ceremony.
The procession will end at the First United Methodist Church at 915 E. 4th St, Tucson, located a short ways from the mall. Entering through the main entrance will bring folks to a light reception hosted by SAGA to build community from remembrance.
