MAINE Me. Rev. Stat. Ann. Tit 22 2705 (2004) (general statute authorizing department to amend birth certificates)
Maine will change both name and sex, and will issue a new birth certificate rather than amend the old one.
You will need an original letter from you SRS surgeon, and an original or certified copy of the court order for you name change. The fee is $20.00.
